Why can’t it be heated directly in the microwave oven? Today we will continue to learn about the high temperature resistance of the plastic products we usually use.
PP/05
Uses: Polypropylene, used in auto parts, industrial fibers and food containers, food utensils, drinking glasses, straws, pudding boxes, soy milk bottles, etc.
Performance: heat resistance to 100~140C, acid and alkali resistance, chemical resistance, collision resistance, high temperature resistance, relatively safe under general food processing temperature.
Recycling advice: The only plastic item that can be put in the microwave and can be reused after cleaning. If you are not sure if the PP material you are using is really PP, please do not put it in the microwave to heat it.
PS/06
Uses: Polystyrene for self-service trays, toys, video cassettes, Yakult bottles, ice cream boxes, instant noodle bowls, fast food boxes, etc.
Performance: Heat resistance 70~90℃, low water absorption and good stability, but it is easy to release carcinogenic substances when containing acid and alkali solutions (such as orange juice, etc.)
Recycling advice: Avoid using PC-type containers for hot food, which should be washed and recycled. PC products used for food and tableware should be thrown into other garbage bins if they are seriously soiled by food.
Others/07
Other plastics, including melamine, ABS resin (ABS), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), polylactic acid (PLA), nylon and glass fiber reinforced plastics.
Performance and usage suggestions: Polycarbonate (PC) heat resistance 120~130℃, not suitable for alkali; Polylactic acid (PLA) heat resistance 50℃; Acrylic heat resistance 70~90℃, not suitable for alcohol; Melamine resin Heat resistance is 110~130℃, but there may be a controversy about the dissolution of bisphenol A, so it is not recommended to pack hot food.
After seeing these, do you still use plastic products to heat in the microwave oven? Here, I appeal to everyone to reduce the use of plastic products, for themselves and the earth. Hurry up and share it with your relatives and friends, for everyone’s health
